Water Turns Green When Shocking

Postby KenK » Mon 20 Apr, 2020 16:37

I've had this "problem" for well over a year. Whenever I add shock to my pool the water turns bright green, then disappears after about 10-15 minutes. Today my alkalinity was low, so about 10 minutes after I added the shock I dumped in some alkalinity increaser, and the green water cleared up immediately.

Any ideas as to what's causing this?
