Pool that had algae that is now.

Hi, my pool had like an algae color to put the shock and the algaecide in and that helped for a day or so. We stopped using the pool so I drained it the other day and now it has a red sand (like ball diamond sand) look to it. I was just wondering if anyone knows what it could be.[/url]

Oh yeah its an above ground pool.
