Black algea removal from a draied pool

Postby Coutry Club Man » Tue 30 Oct, 2007 10:32

We are in the middle of cleaning my clubs swiming pool in preparation for painting which it sorely needs. first we have drained it and have pressure washed it but not all of the algea comes off. we have left the water in the deep end for safety sake (to keep it from popping out) until we are ready. we want to paint all of the sides and bottom before we get to the deep end. we have small spots of black algea all around the pool and the pressure washer will not remove it. I am curious if clorine bleaach will remove it or doing an acid wash will take it out. we are capable of doing whatever is required in order to get this right the first time. One guy told me that paiting over it would solve the problem (I do not believe this in the least). I am under a time line since we will need to get it painted while the outside temps are favorable.

Thanks for any and all help
Randy
