Hello; I am new to this site and I have to say that I am so grateful. here is my situation: I have an 18 x 33 above ground pool and I was late in covering it last year so that when i opened it The water was brown and there were too many leaves to count. I have tried to clean all the leaves out and I have added chemicals to the pool and shocked it once, I will get my water tested tomorrow and I will have parameters. My water is now a bluish/green in color, I still cannot see the bottom. I am getting ready to shock the pool again and I an continuing to clean out the leaves. Am I on the right track or is there more that i should be doing. I have a hayward pro sand filter. :?

Once you get the water tested you'll have a better idea of what needs doing.
Keep at the leaves and get those all cleared out.
Depending on what you're shocking it with, you may need to adjust ph. Chlorine is much more effective when the ph is balanced.
