Purple algae-high Manganese

Algae problems in swimming pool water.
Green (cloudy) water or slimy pool walls.
Black algae. Mustard algae. Pink or white pool mold.

Purple algae-high Manganese

We have a purple algae and our pool is testing high for manganese. What can we do to lower the manganese? We have been working on this problem for weeks and no one can give us an answer.

Manganese is a metal and can be removed like any other metal. Usually with a sequestering agent
