Broke soldier needs help with green pool
i need help getting my inground pool ready, i dont have much money so i have been using bleach as i was told this is a good alternative to shock. what else do you i need to put in to make it swimmable? also the pool was a dark green about a week ago but is alot lighter any tips as to what i should put it and how much will i need?

If your Cyanuric Acid (CYA aka stabilizer or conditioner) level is too low then the chlorine will break down in sunlight; if it's too high then it will take very high levels of chlorine to kill algae so may be better to do a partial drain/refill to lower the CYA in that case. Shocking doesn't mean just adding some bleach one time -- it means adding it to achieve a sustained high level of chlorine. Read Defeating Algae.
