Globrite to microlite swap

Hi all. I am attempting to install microlite where a globrite died.
I added the adapter thinking I was good to go.
Not so sure..
There is a vinyl raised faceplate around the globrite. Since the MicroBrite is smaller in diameter i am thinking it’s too small to fit in here.
Pool is concrete walled vinyl lined.
If it doesn’t work I can always get the newer globrite I suppose.
