Pumpmotor of automatic pool cleaning Robot

Dear all,

I have a dirt devil Catalyst Pool cleaning robot. As the pump was malfunctioning, I have opened it to check it. While doing so, I lost most of the protective fluid that is in the pump - seems to be a type of oil based fluid, looks a bit like glycol (anti-freeze).

Does somebody know what type of fluid is in such pump (which is normally underwater), guess to protect it from water entering?
