Hayward Pump wiring

Postby DRV » Mon 24 Oct, 2016 17:37

I have a two speed, 2 HP Hayward Pump 230 Volt. I'm trying to rewire but it doesn't seem to work. My problem is that
the wires coming from the panel are 2 blacks, 1 red and 1 green (ground). I don't know why I have 2 black wires
or where the second one goes. What I've read is that from the panel I should have 1 red, 1 black, and the ground. I
didn't note where the second black wire was so now I can't figure out where it goes. Any ideas? On the back of the terminal
board I have two wires, one white and one yellow.

What was that cable powering previously? If you use a voltmeter, what is live for colors and what voltage are you getting?
