Help me pick a new pump

Postby ttming » Thu 27 Apr, 2017 13:06

Need a new pump for North East season. Thinking about either a dual speed or variable speed pump. Look for reliability and saving on the electric bill. I have a IG pool, 20' x 40' and the pool will be open from May to August. Any recommendations? TIA.

It seems that more people are going for the variable speed pump for energy savings.
Check with your electricty supply company as they are offering rebates which makes them very attractive and economical to run

yes, there is a rebate from my local Electrical company which is driving the purchase of a a new pump, but the list is long and I have no idea what pumps are good. I read last season on how bad the Hayward variable pumps were, the controller board going bad and cost $400 plus to replace. Need advice from people who already have a dual speed or variable pump. Thanks.

I'm afraid I can't help you there but others have reported savings that make the pump pay for it's self
