Charles, you really need a good winter cover (not mesh) and a summer cover (bubble type).
If you have enough bucks then a quality slatted cover.
If you can only buy one cover then a good winter one can be used in summer to lower evaporation and to keep dirt out of the pool and lessen the chance of algae growth.

Sun2Solar is the best pool covers. The Sun2Solar Round is U.V. protected to keep it safe from intense rays, and it's reinforced to prevent wear and tear, and to stand up to twigs, hail, and more. It is capable of raising your pool's temperature by 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit.

Without a doubt it's winter pool cover. It can be used for all the seasons. I have been using the pool covers from Sydney City Pool Covers for 5 years now. During summer, it reduces the water evaporation to a great extent and it can prevent algae growth too. In winter, it heats the pool up to 4ºC.

Hi. New here.
Looking to get a winter cover for quebec's winters.
Some stores advised the mesh type.
I don't know which one is better !
The polyethylene or the mesh or the Eliminator type.

Thanks .

Mesh is a waste of time, let's too much dirt etc in and doesn't totally block out light. Complete waste of money IMO.
What do you mean by Eliminator?

Just worried about drilling holes in the columns. They are resin and not too thick.
