Booster pump problem

Postby hunt31546 » Wed 07 Mar, 2018 16:04

My pool pump (Hayward Super Pump model# C48L3N134B1) works fine, until my Booster Pump (Hayward Booster Pump model# C48D62A04) turns on, then the 20A GFCI breaker trips. When the booster pump comes on the breaker trips immediately, so I installed a regular 20A breaker to test that way, the booster pump will run for about 30 seconds then trip the regular breaker. Any suggestions? Also these are being run as 230V.

Have you tried just running the booster pump by itself(is the breaker big enough for two pumps)
I would have thought that being installed December of last year it would still be under guarantee

Is the breaker rated for motor use? Some are for regular electrical equipment. Motors can have a start up spike 3 times greater than the running load causing a trip.
