Filter valves

Postby crzypatsfan » Wed 16 May, 2018 17:30

Does anyone ha e any knowledge of which valves are which on my filter system... I have 3 valves and it seems that I can't get the bottom drains to suck,, and one of the skimmers sucks better than the other.. You need or should have little flaps that can close off part of the hole in the skimmers so you can balance the flow. Main drains don't suck! well they don't do much of anything, close off the valve and that will increase your skimmer action. Dirt enters from the surface, that is the best place to remove it from.

I do have flaps in the skimmers and 2 holes. I cover one hole and the other one definitely sucks better.. So what do the 2 drains on the bottom do? And why the 3 valves?

Main drains do very little, because they also reduce the action of the skimmers they are pretty pointless and of course potentially dangerous. Handy if you have a swamp pool as you can push the crap into them, they won't suck it down if you don't.

Rather than closing off (unless you are vacuuming) set the flaps to balance the flow equally between the skimmers.

3 valves, who knows with out at least a picture, guessing, 1 each for the skimmers and one for the main drain(s)?
