Lost flow after vacuuming

Postby theconsultant » Mon 21 May, 2018 16:12

HI there,

I set up my pool and things were going great. I had excellent flow back into the pool and then decided to vacuum. After I finished vacuuming I cannot for the life in me get that same flow. It is maybe a third as strong as it was before the cleaning. There are water bubbles now too.

Can someone please give me some advice?

My pump is a Hayward Ultra-Pro LX, My filter is Hayward X-Stream.

Thanks,

David

Hi David
When you vacuum you put an extra load on to the suction side and it can then suck in air but should go back to normal when you disconnect it
Have you backwashed after vacuuming and whats your pressure?

My pool pump does not have a backwash setting. It has an on and off switch that doesn't even work.
The pressure on my filter indicates 10psi.

I'm not familiar with that setup but is air trapped in the filter?
That pressure doesn't seem excessive is that the same as a clean pressure?
Have you tried priming the pump?
Is the water level 1/2 to 2/3 up the skimmer opening?
Is the skimmer door jammed up?
