sand tank/pump combo problem
I have a SF80110 unit. If the pump shuts down, it wont start back up.. just hums. I have to pick up pump and bang it for it to work.. so, cant use timer...its been running 24/7 for a month now. I took a screwdriver and turned the impeller, and it works fine.. just cant shut off unit. any ideas?? I think I had a power surge one day, which may have caused the problem.

Re: sand tank/pump combo problem
Probably the starting capacitor, certainly where I would go to first, easy and cheap to replace

Re: sand tank/pump combo problem
You only need to remove the cover over the wiring, unless the capacitor is strapped to the outside it will be under the electric cover.
