Hi everyone,
This is my first post and I want to thank you in advance for reading it and helping me.
This morning, I have cleaned my pool (which was very dirty) after using alum and everything went well.
The big issue is that my pump was on "rinse" mode instead of "waste" mode during the whole process.
I am worried about the consequences on my sand filter.
Does anyone knows if this represents a big problem? If yes, could you please tell me what I need to do?
Thank you very much for your help.
O.

Welcome Blueturtle
If you vacuumed the alum on rinse then you have clogged up your sand filter. That's why they say run to waste to miss the filter
Either take the sand out and clean it or replace the sand

Might be worth a 24 hour soak in filter cleaner to try and loosen the grains. Various filter cleaners on the market from nitric acid (nasty stuff) to strong detergents. Nasty stuff works best IMO.

Hi,
Thank you both for your replies.
I guess I'll try to use a filter cleaner first.
