I've just spotted that there's strange white crystals coming out of the MPV from the backwash connection of the sand filter - looks a bit like salt? What's this? How do I fix this?

Hi all,
I've just spotted that there's strange white crystals coming out of the MPV from the backwash connection of the sand filter - looks a bit like salt? What's this? How do I fix this?

I suspect it is salt (taste it)
Do you use liquid chlorine (plain bleach, sodium hypochlorite) to chlorinate as this adds more salt to the system
When you have a leak the water evaporates and leaves the salt residue behind
Not harmfull just reair the leak
