My Pool: 6 x 4 metre concrete

New pool, automation or basic, robot or manual,

Postby fiesta62 » Fri 06 Mar, 2020 22:09

hi, building new 6 x 4 metre concrete pool, need advice on equipment to buy, are these automatic systems that control everything worth getting or are they just complicating things, do they really work reliably , or should I keep it simple ?

and robot cleaners like dolphin or zodiac do they really work or should I just manually clean

cost is not a concern I just want to do it right, using low energy systems and if possible reduce the work and maintenance, thanks

Hey,

hope everything is working working out well so far with your pool.

I have some feedback for this question you have. With the robotic vacuums, they are honestly just a waist of money. They are overly expensive and they cause a lot of wear after a while, since it they have so many components. I will only recommend it to you, if you were planning on leaving the house, for a long period of time. The MX6 or MX8 by Zodiac and the Kreepy Krauly by Pentair works as good as any robotic cleaner, other than you can't leave it running automatically without the pump on. Though, those machines are good, they also come with wear and tear in the future, due to its gears and functions they have.

If you choose to stay simple and cheap there is also the Kreepy Krauly Kruiser by Pentair and the G3 by Zodiac, which runs with suction operated by a diaphragm. Those consist of two basic parts which will wear out in the future, but aren't so expensive to replace and buy, oppose to the first two I mentioned, which runs on gears. The G3 comes with a rubber diaphragm that tears up easily and the Kreepy Kruiser comes with a plastic flap as the diaphragm. The parts for the vacuum are cheap.

Hope everything works out.
