Vacuuming

We have an above ground Intex pool 9 x 18 rectangular pool. This is a salt pool with a sand filter 1000 gal per hour system. The pump is 1/4 hp. When I try to vacuum the pool the suction is very weak so it takes a long time to vacuum and can also just stir the stuff into the water. We are thinking of getting a larger pump. What size pump should we buy.

Dont waste your money, you wont see much improvement, you would need to fit a bigger filter as well otherwise you'll just see the pressure gauge read higher and your electricity bill get bigger.
My tip, buy an electric cordless vaccum like a pool blaster or the later Volt series.
