Salt Cell plate bent

I just purchased a replacement salt cell and noticed that one of the plates is slightly bent and in contact with the adjacent plate. Only the corner of the plate is in contact so it shouldn't restrict flow. I tried to move it back into place but the it is jammed against the cell housing. Will this effect cell performance?? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes it will cause a short between the plates and could cause early failure of the power supply part of the setup. Return it for an unbent one.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
