intex pump not working properly

- My Pool: 10x20 above ground. Sand filter 2450 gph,
intex pump not working properly
My intex pump pulls water out of the pool just fine, but is not pumping water back into the pool. The sand is two years old. I just backwashed. Sometimes it will pump for a few minutes - then quits. Then nothing. thank you in advance for any ideas.

Do you have a multiport valve (MPV) if so set to recirculate and see what happens
You say the pump quits, do you mean it stops running
