My tank drains back into the pool when the pump is turned off. This creates a situation where the pump has to strain and sometime does an auto shutoff because it can't get water back from the pool fast enough. How do I upload an image? There are no visible leaks or audible air escaping. I think it is a valve of some sort but need help please.

By tank do you mean filter if so fit a non return valve on the suction side (inlet) of the pump
