Spa Heater says Service System

Postby drparrish21 » Thu 11 Nov, 2021 19:35

I have a Pentair Intelliflo Pump and Mastertemp 400 Heater. Pool setting is 18 PSI, spa is reading the same. Not enough PSI for the heater to kick on. I replaced the pressure switch, cleaned filters, checked impeller and skimmers for debris with no luck.

Any additional troubleshooting ideas?

My pool runs at 0.5 PSI with a clean filter, replaced pressure switches with flow switches for obvious reasons. You don't need that kind of pressure, its an open circuit. This is internal pressure which in reality is just costing you a lot in electricity, often caused by a too smaller filter and too larger pump. It worsens the filtration so all in all achieves less.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
