I have a bean shaped pool with a volume of 50 m3, 8 meters by 5 meters (26 feet by 16 feet).
Because my pump was broken, a local builder replaced it. My original pump was 0.5 horse power. The new one is 0.75 horse power. That's 50% more power, and I can see a much stronger current.
Should I be concerned that this could be too much pressure for the pipes?
Pipes being damaged is my biggest concern, as I can't even start to imagine the work needed to unearth them.
Thanks
Is a pump too powerful dangerous for the pipes?

You needn't worry about the pressure on the pipes as they can deal with a far greater pressure
But you should be bothered about the extra flow through your filter as it could lower your filtration (slower is better)
I have a 0.37 Kw pump on a 45 m3 pool which gives me 10.8 m3/h flow rate
You also have a 50% increase in your electricity cost
A speed reducer would help
