Comparator discs

Hi all, as I've run out of DPD for the Taylor titrating kit, I've fallen back to a disc comparator test kit my dad purchased a long time ago. It is the Water ID balanced water kit. I realised one thing, I simply cannot see any difference in shades for chlorine levels between 2.0 and 5.0! It looks absolutely identical. Is that normal?

No, not normal, that said, one of my ladies I employed to look after pools couldn't either! Not an optician so can't explain it but tried with her to put white card behind the comparator so colour density could match better but in the end I bought her and the others digital testers to remove any doubt.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
