We moved into a house with a pool . We have read and watched videos and still have no idea what we are doing. We paid someone to open it but we have air bubbles in the pool and have been told that we may have air in our lines.
My husband thinks it might be a small leak in the fitting that goes into the pump bc he noticed it drips a bit when the pump gets turned off.
could that small leaky coupling be what’s causing air to be in the line and causing our skimmers to barely suck if sucking at all ?
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this. Thank you so much !
Please help! Bday party in a few days and can’t find anyone to come fix it !

Yes, it seems you have a suction side air leak between your skimmer and pump
Normally a small air leak won't stop the suction but introduce bubbles from the returns (worst when vacuuming)
Lube the pump basket "O" ring with silicone grease as this is the first place to look
