Changing T cell type in panel (Salt water pool)

Hello All, So thankful to find a place I may be able to get some experienced, objective help.

I have a saltwater system with a T9 cell that needs to be replaced. I saw a post somewhere that stated if your panel allows you to manually change the type of cell, you can change the type of replacement you buy. For instance, if your system originally came with a T9 cell, you can change to a T15 if your panel allows you to manually change the cell type, (which mine does).

Would someone confirm this for me? Thanks in advance
