I need to purchase a replacement cartridge for my pool. The only one the local pool store has is $150. I only paid $199 for the whole filter last year! I found a cartridge online that is virtually the same size as the cartridge that's currently in there (it's about 1/8" larger, top to bottom) and it's only $41. Now, I know "you get what you pay for" but I'm honestly not going to spend $150 for a cartridge, especially since this is probably the last year we'll have this pool.
The replacement doesn't list my filter model as compatible, but everything seems to be the same (other than that 1/8"). Is it reasonable to assume this cartridge will work?
Need replacement cartridge...can I buy based on the physical size?

Is the manifold spring loaded so it can accommodate the extra height? What is the micron level of filtration, generally the finer the filtration the more you pay.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
