Coping error?

I used a cleaner for tile on my coping (recommended by Leslies pool supplies) to clean off the calcium build up and now I have etched coping color.

Is there any way to repair (re-stain) this coping?

OK I found the answer with some experimentation.

The coping is brick(ish) so I got some 220 sand paper and sanded it smooth (also works for the calcium buildup) and the used mineral oil to wipe away the debris.

Must wipe all Mineral Oil away or slippery.

But it looks as good as day one so happy now except that I have to sand the remainder of the coping so it looks as good.

When the oil is completely leached out you could consider using a polyester based sealer that will provide a much longer protection and is more resistant to scaling.

Thanks! I did try an exterior sealer but I didn't like the whitish uneven coat it left. Perhaps a poly/oil based substance would sink in and give an even result?
