Well if they had to cut a hole in the vinyl, the PCS sample probably had a hole too. Yes?
How did that hole get there in the first place? The salesman's scissors?.....

It's like saying a salesman took a car from every car manufacturer and smashed out the windshields with a hammer, and one car manufacturer's windshield only had a small hole vs a larger hold in all the other cars.
Who cares, they all need repaired. right?
I wonder if PCS provides warranty on scissor cut vinyl?

I am rather new to ‘blogs ’and was excited to find a blog on Coverstar. However, I am quite surprised that only negative experiences are posted. We have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about our Coverstar cover. About 5 years ago we had our gunite pool completely remodeled into a rectangle shape just so that we could have an automatic cover installed on it. After a great deal of research and referrals by several friends who have pools, we chose Coverstar. For 5 years we have been totally pleased with the ease of operation, no leaks or tears, have never had the ropes replaced or even adjusted as far as I know. We have their service technicians come out each year and do their yearly clean and service. No complaints from this customer!!

Is this guy serious????? HAHAHAHA We took sample from EVERY company we could cut the same size of material and then yes cut a hole in it (because where I live I get crazy wind storms and branches flying over all the time, so i wanted to mimic a puncture in the fabric YOU IDIOT!!!!!) I wanted to see what one would be the hardest to tear (figuring I could tear all of them). Myself nor my cousin (huge guy, really strong) could tear it at all. So my point of the test was if there was a hole in the fabric (THAT I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT) how safe would the cover be? The PCS provided me the SAFEST COVER AT THE CHEAPEST PRICE JERK!!!!!!

Man, I'm glad I found this post because I too am having the exact same problem!!!! I might as well replace the whole system rather than paying for the stupid ropes breaking every year!! I am so mad at Coverstar I see red whenever I think about it! :x Then, everytime I call I have to leave a message because nobody wants to own up to the problem and deal with me... This is not how I think a company should do business by any means. Thumbs down for Coverstar. So.... I tried another company called cover-pools but I didn't really feel like they wanted to listen to my needs, they were so pushy and almost rude when I told them I would think about it and do some more research because I didn't want to run into the same problems. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A DECENT COMPANY WITH GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I CAN CALL TO GET A NEW COVER??????????? PLEASE HELP!

Janice,
I am not here to make other companies look bad. But maybe give PCS a call and I am sure they would listen to what kind of problems you are having. On my cover there is a 800 number (800 369 5152). I am sure they would help you out.

And if you call that number, they'll sell you direct, and bypass their dealer service network - like they just did to me!!! Bye bye PCS.

OK nice guy/happy customer,

after you get that crazy strong wind with branches flying ALL over, first of all...BE CAREFUL!! and stay inside.
Then after those winds die down, go inspect the hole from the branches that will be thru your PCS cover, yes?. It'll be there, but of course it'll be a smaller hole than any other companies hole, then what?

Then the pool water comes from underneath the cover and on top of the vinyl.
NEXT, your pool cover pump continues to pump out the pool water until there's nothing supporting your cover.
VOILA, your cover is now sitting at the bottom of your pool with major problems.
But, here's the good news....It's so darn rare that something less than a complete tree can go thru ANY manufacturer's cover.
DUDE, YOU GOT SOLD...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
....either that, or you work at PCS with Marina, Trina, etc....... I'm betting on the latter.

Actually we had a different cover before we bought this one. And the reason my wife wanted to change is that there was a hole i had no idea about and our dog ran across and tore the hole right in front of my wife. thats all. your obviously from a competitor of Trinas' company right?

So is it strong winds or dogs with sharp claws? Your story keeps changing.
If you switched covers due to your dog, why didn't you write that the first time?
Am I a competitor of PCS? No, but I know a lot about electric covers.
1 question for you.
Who manufactured your original electric pool cover system ? Since you said you had someone elses cover before, you must have been sold over PCS and are still satisfied with the electric powered system. I'm hope you'll answer my question.

LMAO,
oh, and who's company made the cover that ripped when your dog ran across it?
Rain water here in MD is a lot heavier than dogs. That rain water weight would have ripped your cover WAAAAYYY before your "dog" did, so I don't believe one word you're writing.
c'mon, fess up to everyone on here. you work for PCS too.

LMAO & nice guy,
Here's proof you're a PCS employee....
under LMAO you wrote that you had someone else's cover and that's why you went with PCS.
Here you write that you've only had a PCS cover.

This tells you all you need to know about PCS. I'm not telling you to stay away from them, I'm just saying.....

nice guy here wrote:Dear "r-u-sure", I am trying to figure you out. I have been watching this forum for information. I have an Infinity 2000. (Not sure the difference between that and the 4000 but anyway) I have NEVER had ropes break. Nor has my cousins for 10 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who gives a crap if it is Pool Cover Specialists employees. Their covers are amazing. Do you know what sold me? I had all major companies samples in my hands. Their sample far exceeded any other company. The strength was amazing. I could tear all other cover samples after cutting a hole in it. But not theirs. Loved that I DIDNT have to grease the motor EVER!!!!!!!
Thanks for listening to me.

You're not responding to my request for who's company made your first cover and why didn't you replace the system when you got a new "PCS" cover.
uh oh, Can't cover up that unfortunate "mis-truth" can u?
...tick...tick...tick.

actually, that's o.k., just admit that you misled everyone on here, and really do work for PCS and ALL will be forgiven.
