Hayward Scuba Dave Robot Cleaner

Hi there.

I wonder if anyone knows anything about the Scuba Dave cleaner as I have just bought one from a local pool shop however the box was 'water damaged and so for a discounted price I got the actual cleaner and the guy threw in a separate hose. There were no instructions but I was told to connect one end of the hose to 'Dave' and the other (after submerging under the water to get rid of the air) to the skimmer. I've done this several times now but still 'Dave' does not move. In fact he slightly tilts (one sided only) upwards - could there still be air in the hose even though I've pain-stakingly submerged it prior to connection? Or maybe 'Dave' might just be faulty?

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated as I'm a complete novice.

Many thanks.

Claribelle

Did you make sure the air was out of the vac line also and that water was actually still circulating? Simply plugging the vac line into the skimmer could cause a big gulp of air to hit the pump and stop it from pumping.
