I woke up this morning to the gurgling of my pool. I went out and the water is cloudy and when I turned the pump off, water erupted from the skimmer basket. Anyone knows what gives?

add water to your pool if low for gurgling in skimmer and try cleaning your filter if pressure is high.

Elf is right. Keep the water level up 1/3-1/2 up the skimmer and clean out the skimmer and pump basket. Prime the pump with water before turning back on.
