Issue with Waterfall Sheer Descent

Postby Nicnat » Tue 28 May, 2019 20:18

Hello. Recently, our waterfall (sheer descent type) is not flowing out evenly with gaps of no water on 2 areas so the other areas are spraying out more water and pressure. We tried using a thin tool (like a hacksaw) to probe anything clog inside but there was no resistance that we felt. Any other option to fix this? Appreciate any recommendation. Thank you.

Don't know what filtration system you have but this sounds like a reduced flow due to a clogged filter

So, we just checked. It actually flows better when we lower the pressure. It does not flow far (as before), but its smooth flow.

Yes, you'll get a laminar flow rather than a turbulent one.

So, does that mean it is a filtration issue? Clog filter?

We are now looking for the filter. We bought this house from the original owner so are not familiar of where everything is. We could not find it around the concrete area and wondering if it is in ground in the grass area. Thoughts?

It will be on the outflow side of the pump somewhere unless it's one of the awful monoblock designs that place filters on the skimmer side.
