I am in desperate need of ladder advice!

I'll preface this by saying that IMO, the pool in question should be completely torn down and replaced; it was not properly winterized, the cover was not used, and the lawn where it's installed was graded in the rain (as well as the pool being put up in the rain). So, it's not quite even but it remained standing over the winter and my in-laws are determined to get another summer out of it so they don't feel they've wasted their money. Despite our offers to vet the grading and installer and to go half on a new one, they're stubborn and feel this one (Intex 28241EH 15ft x 48in Metal Frame Outdoor Above Ground Swimming Pool) can be saved, so here I am.

We've helped them order a new pump since the one that arrived with the pool does not have enough power to cycle the water to keep it clean and I think we've been sufficiently firm that we won't help with scrubbing it clean or shocking it until they get a cover so that when not in use, our hard work doesn't turn into an algae swamp. Assuming all goes well with cleaning, the new pump, and refilling, the next issue will be the ladder. The one that came with the pool is not safe. One in-law is shaky due to a medication they're on and the other has horrible knees and the ladder situation is an awful accident waiting to happen.

At this point, I'm going to say the price point is not a concern because the consequences of not upgrading the ladder will be far worse than the tight bank account. So please, if anyone has any suggestions for a ladder that could work with the pool to make it safe for the in-laws to use, that would be so very appreciated.

Why don't you create a platform adjacent to the pool with steps up to it.
