how to replace light niche in fiberglass pool

I have fiberglass pool in a home I purchased last year I was able to replace the light fixture but when I tried to place it back in the niche where the screws would secure to where coroded away the niche looks pretty beat up but its not leaking and the light has no where to secure to is this something I can replace myself ?
