- My Pool: Hi one skimmer two holes. One nearest pool has sand I think down it and no flow. Other nearest pump not functioning very hard. Have two flow switches on pipes to sand filter. Have them both open but even when one closed suction not great. Would it be because sand in hole skimmer near pool or some other reason!

Hi two holes in skimmer. One nearest pool has sand in it. Is this a problem as no suction from it. Other hole not sucking great either but nothing as far as I can determine in it. Two handles on pipe to sand filter. One controls bottom vent and other top skimmer I think. Is this right. Is the sand in hole nearest pool creating a problem?

Examine the skimmer, that sand may have just collected in the blanked off hole. Might only be 2"deep, bottom drains do almost nothing so close that valve off after fully opening the skimmer one. What does your pressure gauge read?
