Is it hard to close the pool by myself?

For the past 3 years I always hire someone to close the pool (winterize) for me. It's not cheap, I am thinking of close it myself this year. But I was told if I don't do it correctly, the pipe my be damaged during the winter. Is there a document somewhere I can read?
