Hey all, I'm a high school student and made a website about pool troubleshooting. very new.I wa wondering if I needed to have the pump on when I first started the opening of my pool?I mean when I first shock the pool with chemicals does the pump need to be on?

The more you run the pump the better the chemicals mix and the faster they can reach the trouble spots. Extended filtration clears pools quicker, the exception being floc, in which case the pool should be left to 'rest' after a few hours of filtration to allow the dirt to settle.
