Postby all4him » Tue 06 Jun, 2006 12:52

I live in Cibolo, Texas and the PH in my pool has been running 8.4 or higher :?: In the past 3-4 weeks I have put over a gallon of Muriatic Acid and a 3 lb can of PH decreaser in the water :? . It is still reading 8.4 or higher.

What can I do differrent to bring down thje PH more quickly?

is it a new pool, if so you can expect this for a while, a gallon of acid is really not that much, make sure you mix it with water before you add it, on new pools I add a gallon a day for a few weeks or until not needed any more, it is the calcium(which is high in PH) leaching out of the plaster and concrete.
