The 10+ year old heater on our 40k gal pool & 500 gal spa has died. We NEVER used it to heat the pool. Here in Texas, during the summer, heating the pool is the last thing you want to do. During the winter, we don't swim, but we do want the SPA to be heated. I was thinking that to save money, I would get a smaller heater to replace the larger. There are some affordable, and effecient, 100k btu Hayward heaters for about $550 shipped, but they are for above ground pools.
Is there realy any problem with hooking one up to my system and only using it to heat the spa?
