Solar heat system combined with Heat Pump?
Hi, I am considering installing a solar pool heating system, but am concerned that it won't be sufficient. Ideally would like to be able to swim comfortably most of the year. Does anyone have experience with, or recommend, adding a secondary heat source, such as a heat pump, that would work in conjunction with the solar system? I envision having the heat pump as a supplemental heat source at times when the solar alone wasn't heating sufficiently.

Depending on where you are solar is excellent as it's free and a heat pump is very efficient
You would need to be able to operate them separately so that you are not sending heated water to cool down when there isn't sufficient solar gain
