Hello everyone
I just had installed super pump VS700 variable speed pump.
Hayward heater -- HP21104T
I am waiting for the installer to come hook up my Hayward Omni hub , but while I wait I was trying to figure out the minimumal RPM for the heater to work.
It appears I have to have it at 3000 RPM for the heater to come on.
I set up a timer at night to run at 3000 RPM and during the day at 3200 RPM
The question I have is , should I just run it at 3000 RPM all the time. I am not sure if there is any benefits running it at the higher speed ?

Re: Variable speed pumps for pool heaters
Its not really any help knowing the RPM if you dont know the actual flow rate, with a variable speed pump you really should have a flow gauge of some kind installed, at least while you calibrate the flow so you have an idea what RPM = what flow rate.
To answer your second question, there is no point at all to filtering at a higher speed, it achieves nothing positive just uses more electricity and worsens filtration, you only need high speed for backwashing.

I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
