Hayward Porblem

Postby racefan » Tue 07 Aug, 2007 19:39

I have a Hayward H1000 propane heater for an aboveground pool.
It will not ignite. There is 65% gas in the tank.I have tapped the gauge to make sure it's not stuck.Let me start at the beginning. It was firing up fine then one day when it reached temp. & shut off it would not restart when it dropped below temp. I could restart it by shutting the power off & turning it back on.I replaced the igniter & wire & now it will not fire at all. The blower comes on & you can smell gas when it trys to ignite, then when it does not ignite the gas smell goes away.Any ideas?

sounds like the wire maybe backwards. happened to me , I had it wired for 220 not 110. YOur wiring diagram in the manual should show you that.
