I have to lower my pool to correct the high cyanuric acid. The refill process is very slow. Can I close the skimmer line and run the filter using the drain line only while the pool is refilling?

Doug,
As long as you can completely close off the skimmer so no air is being drawn into the pump, you should be fine to run the pool off of the main drain only while the pool is filling.
