Pool Heater

Postby cato cat » Wed 12 Jul, 2006 00:19

We are just installing our above ground pool, first we looked at Solar Panels, then because we want to use the pool as long as possible we chose a gas heater but have recently been told we would need to run it almost every month. They told us we should get a heat exchanger which is a reverse air conditioner its runs off electricity and supposed to be cheaper to run. However it is around $4k more. Does anyone have any experience on this?

it is called a HEat Pump they make them with air and heat, you might just want heat, but you will be running this longer then you would agas heater because it take longer to heat because it is electric, so you have to figure what is more money and cost effective.,
