Postby flups » Thu 05 May, 2016 15:48

Hello everyone, we have recently moved into a house with a pool that has not been maintained for over a year. Pool is rectangle 19x7x4 foot pretty sure its a vinyl . Water is dank, there are newts and lots of gunk at the bottom. Not even sure where to start with this, has a pump house would appreciate some help on what the first steps should be to getting it useable.

Should i pump all the water out and clean it then refill?

blast with chemicals?

any help would be appreciated

thanks in advance

You should check out our smart monitor! I definitely think it's something you're looking for - it will help monitor your pools levels, tell you what needs adjustments, and how to do it, all via an app! That way you aren't spending tons of money on chemicals you don't need, or pool people. You can make your pool safe on your own.

Plus, we're currently inviting new pool owners to join our beta testing program.

Are you sure its a liner as it doesn't look like it in the image
You need to be careful draining it if you have ground water that will pop it out of the ground
Do you have a bottom return which may have an Hydrstatic valve in it
You need to test your pipes to make sure they are sound
Clean out all the crud and creatures and clean it before refilling it

Get yourself
Test Kit
Liquid chlorine (sodium hypochlorite)
Muriatic acid (Hydrochloric acid)
Stabilisor (Cyanuric acid)
A means to aerate the pool (I use a heavy duty pond aerator)
When the pool is filled, test it and adjust
Use the pool school to get started or post your readings back here

Hello flups,
First of all you cleanup your pool removing all pool water by using motor pump. After that you you should clean empty pool by chemicals for germs.
In future if you don't want to face this type of problem than you should use pool covers. The Automatic pool Covers Saves time for cleaning and also saves energy.
If you want the stuff than contact me at 905-882-7049 or email me: info@coversinplay.com
