New Top Rails for older inground pool

I am looking for an alternative to this aluminum top rail that I have on my pool. I just purhcased this house and my pool guys says its an older pool and I do not have any options. Its basically a piece of aluminum that goes over the top rail and is constantly falling off. It seems to serve no puropose beside being decorative and cover bare metal below. He says he can screw it down. He also informs me that we cannot do pavers or concrete up to the edge bc of the design of the pool. You need to be able to get to that rail to replace liner. I would be happy replacing aluminum with another color if possible to match new surround we are building.
