HELP my pool turned green

My pool turned green. I shocked it yesterday at around 6pm and it is still green (now 11am)... How long does the shock take to clear up your pool? I have a pool that is about 11,0000 gallons. I used 2lbs of shock (I just doubled the dose). Was that not enough? I also poured some algaecide in this morning... Is there anything else I need to do? The pool looks pretty much the same.... Please help!

You probably have metals in the water, try adding a sequestrant
Some algaecide has copper in it which would make the metal worse

OMG! That sounds like a disaster. Was it a new one? Your pool I mean.

The main problem is not the shocking, but in the filtration system. No matter how much shock you apply or how many times you do it if your filtration is not working as it's supposed to, then your pool will remain green and cloudy.

Have you solved the problem, if not post your levels back here including Combined Chlorine
