What is a flotation device?

Postby Lesli » Wed 23 Nov, 2016 01:04

What is a flotation device? Is it really useful during the freezing winter?

I build my pool before the summer. This is the first winter we are facing. I am from Ontario and winters are freezing here. I read it from a pool maintaining blog about using the flotation device to prevent the ice from pushing against the wall and cracking the tiles. http://www.ferraripools.com/blog/pool-f ... or-winter/ It is also mentioned not to empty the pool. I thought that flushing out the water would be good for the winter.

I would appreciate some help to maintain the pool during the winter. '

Thanks in advance.

You need to winterise
The flotation device holds the pool cover up
The information in the blog is good
If this is your first winter I suggest you have it done proffesionaly to prevent any freeze damage
You can watch and then do the same next year yourself

The water level is lowered below the skimmer and the lines blown out and plugged, maybe anti freeze added as well (not vehicle)

Thanks, Denniswiseman.
So, I will be careful this winter, taking very cautions.
