Pump operation and cleaning (newbie alert)

Postby new555 » Tue 13 Dec, 2016 23:44

Hello,

I am a brand new pool owner. My pool company seemed to set the pool to run with the following schedule:

Filter / Pump: 10 am to 2 pm (all days)
VSP program (cleaner): 11 am to 12 pm (all days)

What's puzzling to me is... According to my iAquaLink PDA, my Jandy ePump is on now (8:40 pm) at 1,750 RPM (295 watts). That is outside the times above. Is that some sort of sleep mode at low RPMs?

I think during the above times, it kicks up to over 3,000 RPM. Does this all sound right?

It's winter in Northern California (50 degrees F) and rain. So no swimming for several months.

I just want to make sure I have not inadvertently switched something from when the pool company originally set it.

Thanks!

I can answer my own question... Thanks for all the input. This forum seems full of questions, but very little responses.

In case you run into this issue... My pump was set to ON because I thought it needed to be ON to work. So it ran the whole time at ON. When I set it to OFF, the program turned itself ON and OFF as it should.

Thanks
